Cardamon Seeds for Garam masala Blend

garam masala powder

an aromatic and mildly spiced powdered masala blend


120g cumin seeds
20gm coriander seeds
20gm black peppercorns
20 cinnamon sticks (each an inch long)
20 green cardamom
10gm whole cloves
8 black cardamom
8 dry bay leaves
2 mace florets
1 whole nutmeg


  • 1. Using a heavy bottomed pan, dry roast all the ingredients on low heat for about 5 mins
  • 2. Cool and grind into a fine powder using a coffee grinder
  • 3. Store in an airtight jar

(Yields approx. 200gm of garam masala powder)
