Super Easy Telangana Prawn Fry

super easy telangana prawn fry

prawns tossed in turmeric, chilli and salt


500gms prawns - shelled, deveined and cleaned
Quarter of a tsp ground turmeric
1 tbsp ghee/coconut oil
Half a tsp Kashmiri red chilli powder (mild/medium chilli powder will do)
Half a tsp salt
Lime (optional)


  • 1. Boil the prawns with the turmeric for 5 mins (or until cooked)
  • 2. Drain the prawns leaving behind about 2tbsp of water.
  • 3. In a separate wok, heat the ghee/coconut oil.
  • 4. Turn the heat down completely and add the red chilli powder and salt.
  • 5. Sauté for 2 mins (careful not to burn)
  • 6. Add the prawns and toss well until fully coated with the spice.
Serve with lime wedges to squeeze over.
